The situation in Gaza is an ongoing humanitarian crisis For months, the people of Gaza have endured relentless bombings, constant displacement, and the heartbreaking loss of family members and loved ones. What was once a home for millions is now a warzone, leaving entire families to flee with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Schools, hospitals, and homes have been reduced to rubble, and with each passing day, the destruction only worsens.

This is not just a conflict; it is a humanitarian catastrophe.

❌ Children with treatable injuries are facing amputations without anaesthesia due to the severe shortage of medical resources. Pregnant women are giving birth in unsafe, unsanitary conditions, while doctors are forced to choose who gets life-saving treatment.

❌ 97% of Gaza’s water is now undrinkable causing widespread illness from waterborne diseases like cholera and diarrhoea, especially among children.Water treatment plants are destroyed leaving millions without clean water.

Children are waking up with nothing to eat, their tiny bodies growing weaker by the day. The elderly, frail and starving, are being forced to endure days without food. There’s nothing to eat.

1.9 million people have been displaced since October 7th 2023

Families are now huddled in overcrowded shelters or makeshift camps with little protection from the bombings. These temporary shelters lack sanitation, heating, and basic privacy, and they are no safer than the homes they've left behind.

Families are now huddled in overcrowded shelters or makeshift camps with little protection from the bombings. These temporary shelters lack sanitation, heating, and basic privacy, and they are no safer than the homes they've left behind.

For the fragile women, children, and orphans affected, every second, minute, and hour that goes by is an unimaginable test of patience and faith. Who are we to let them lose hope?

This is our call to action as an Ummah

It started in October 2023. Almost a year has passed. How much have we as an Ummah helped? Can we be proud of what we have given to the cause? Will Allah accept the little we have given from the abundance that Allah has blessed us with?

If you have an outstanding zakat, Allah has guided you here to make up for your owed debt. All proceedings towards the Gaza cause are Zakat-eligible, meaning that not only could you gain the reward of paying Zakat, but also the immense reward of saving human lives.

Saving a single human life is no small accomplishment. Saving one human is equivalent to saving billions upon billions of humans.

For verily Allah says:

"Whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land, it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one, it is as if he had saved mankind entirely."

(Qur'an 5:32)

This makes it easier than ever to earn great rewards for your good deeds. With even the smallest donation, you could save a child from starvation or an elderly woman from the brutal conditions of displacement, lack of shelter, and extreme cold in Gaza.

Would you like the rewards of saving billions upon billions of humans? You just have to save one.

The Palestinians didn’t choose this suffering, just as you didn’t choose your blessings. Calamities are from Allah, and what better way to shield yourself than by giving Sadaqah? For verily:

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said,

"Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity."

(Tirmidhi, Hadith 589)

Calamities don’t only arrive in the form of genocides or freak natural disasters. They arrive through family deaths, illnesses, car accidents, sudden financial ruin and much more - All of which could happen to any of us at any time.

Tomorrow is guaranteed for no one

We should protect ourselves from the wrath and calamities of Allah by willingly donating to our Muslim brothers and sisters, for we, as an Ummah, are one body.
